The Laddered Stocking Look Is Not For The Faint Hearted!

For women over a certain age, which is not defined by actual age in years but in the fashion styles they choose, will be horrified to see one of last season’s fashion trends being seen this spring. The laddered stocking look will have many women cringing at the mere thought of wearing an accidental ripped stocking, let alone actually opting to deliberately wear them!
However, the neo-grunge look is definitely ‘in’ this season but you have to know how to wear it to look trendy and not just as if you have accidentally laddered your tights!
This style looks most effective when worn with dark greys and blacks with black laddered stockings. The look also calls for large wide ladders which run the length of the stockings or up over one knee and a lot of confidence!
Typically the neo-grunge look incorporates black flat heeled boots and woolly scarves wound round the neck a couple of times. If you can’t bear the thought of wearing laddered stockings but want more than normal skin tone tights or stockings there are some wonderful patterned tights available.
Classical black fishnet styles are still popular, however, there are some great diamond patterns or open work tights which can offer a sassy look but without the grunge appearance.
Alternatively opt for the ripped jeans look which is being seen this year. Rips on the knees are popular rather than rips which expose bottom cheeks! Or opt for ‘boyfriend’ jeans which is another trendy style for spring and summer which is being seen on the catwalks and by well photographed celebrities.
Looking comfortable and yet chic can cause many women problems as they are not quite sure how to achieve a relaxed and casual look without resorting to a baggy tee shirt and tracksuit bottoms! Ripped stockings or torn jeans may not be everyone’s ‘cup of tea’ and you certainly have to know how to wear these looks without merely looking like an accident has happened with your clothes for them to look good.
Choose coloured tight which contrast with your outfit if you want a trendy style without the rips and ladders! Teal coloured tights coordinate well with greys, blacks and whites and are a great colour for ladies who have chunky legs as they can give the illusion of longer leg length and slimness.
Plus size women can also take full advantage of tights which incorporate tummy control panels. The styles with full panty tops, with cotton gussets are also ideal for wearing under clingy dresses as there is no need to wear knickers! The extra control is great for providing a smooth appearance without bulk or a VPL.
For sassy evening wear stockings are still very popular despite what many people think! Body shapers which have suspenders attached are ideal for proving a sleek look and a sexy appearance!
While there is no need to have matching bra and knickers wearing gorgeous underwear can boost confidence, knowing that you look and feel good in your plus size lingerie means that this feeling will be transposed to the outside and provide chic, confident elegance no matter what style of plus size fashion you choose to wear!
